These past couple of months has truly been fun, almost a real pleasure. When I took the courage to contact Animal Media Group about possible “Advance Reader Copies.” I never expected a response from them, let alone for the Authors to actually take the online interview. These interviews are not all inclusive, being that I haven’t really done an interview before. So please, please be understanding with me.

Julia Young and Matt Harkins are the minds behind the humorous short picture book story, “Please don’t grab my p#**sy.” In a recent interview, I asked the authors a series of questions, more about their personal success, then about their latest book that is sure to be a hit.

Q. What was the first book you ever wrote?

A. Please don’t grab my p#**sy.

This is the authors first book, which is actually very interesting, see that the book is very amusing, but one of the authors “Julia Young,” is a comedian from Wild’in Out.

Q. What is the first book you ever read?

A. Micheal Jackson’s Autobiography

That’s one book, I definitely want to read sometime, *sighs* probably won’t happen anytime soon.

Q. What is your favorite picture book?

A. Where the wild things are.

Q. What is your key for such success?

A. Not sure if success is the best description for us, but we’d say surround yourself with people who make you laugh and absolutely moisturize every single morning.

Q. What are your favorite literary journals?

A. The google search we just did, tells us it’s granta.

Q. How many hours a day do you write?

A. The authors write only an hour a day.

Q. What is the most unethical practice in the publishing world?

A. Julia Young and Matt Harkins does not have enough experience to answer this question, but has stated it’s unethical for people not to buy their first book.

Q. Have you ever gotten reader’s block? When and why?

A. The authors can’t say they have experienced any readers block but we keep our reading light and short.

Q. Did you ever consider writing under a pseudonym?

A. Yes, they do have very glamorous names. Julia Young’s pseudonym is “Ursula October” and Matt Harkin’s pseudonym is “Nancy Grace.”

Q. What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?

A. They responded by saying, ” Anything we’ve ever spent money on, that helped us procrastinate is a fabulous purchase.

Q. What did you do with your first advance?

A. They would no comment on this question, but they did say they would buy an inflatable hot and several exotic birds.

Q. How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have? List them here, if available.

A. Julia has one idea for another adult picture book but, we can’t get into it for legal reasons

Matt has several pamphlets in him for sure though.

Q. What kind of research do you do, and how long do you send researching before beginning a book?

A. For their first book, they researched a lot of euphemisms for “Vagina” which as they have said, was a fun few weeks.

Q. If you didn’t write, what would you do for work?

A. Neither authors are full time writers at the moment. Julia is a freelance Tv writer/performer and Matt is the co-owner of the THNK 1994 Museum.

Q. Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?

A. Yes they do, whether they are good or bad.

Q. Do you hide any secrets in your books, that only a few people will find.

A. Yes, one of the original paintings by Laura Collins featured in the book is actually of Julia (it’s not the Mike Pence one.)

If you would like to stay up to date with everything they do, I suggest stalking their social media below.
